Almost Seven in Ten Canadians Support Federal Tax Credit for Volunteer FirefightersNovember 9, 2010
A new independent Abacus Data National Poll commissioned by the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs finds that almost seven in ten Canadians either strongly support or somewhat support a proposal before the federal government to create a $3,000 income tax credit for volunteer firefighters who serve their communities more than 200 hours per year. Nine percent of Canadians were opposed to the proposal while 16% said they neither support nor oppose it.
The online survey of 1,001 Canadians was conducted between October 29 and November 1, 2010.
